Cherida Birch graduated from the Middlesex in London in 1984 with a BA Hons in Commercial Interior Design.
For the next ten years she worked for Design House; Fitch & Co and then architects DEGW as an in-house designer.
Cherida now lives near Tisbury in Wiltshire and divides her time between running her business and painting landscapes.
The majority of her works are oil paintings, using mainly a pallet knife to create texture. The impression of colour and light is created by using many layers of paint.
The landscapes are inspired by Cherida’s love of the countryside, particularly the West Country, where she grew up; and the coastline in Dorset and Cornwall, where she goes regularly.
